Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for post construction award services (PCAS) for the Building 226, Air Handling Unit ? 15 renovation project. The services required include review and evaluation of submittals, evaluation of alternates, assisting with the solution of technical issues, site visits to attend meetings and review of construction progress and preparation of as-built drawings. ? NIST intends to enter into a sole source contract with HDR, Architecture, Inc., Alexandria, Virginia, under the authority of 41 USC 253(c )(1) ? only one responsible source. HDR, Inc. is the engineer on record for the design of this project and as such has the pre-requisite knowledge required for this task. The Government anticipates the award of a fixed price purchase order. ? Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by December 27, 2004, will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a noncompetitive procurement. Written responses to this synopsis are required to contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation will not be issued.
