Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, with ITI Standards Secretariat, Atlanta, GA under authority of FAR 13.106-1b, Soliciting From a Single Source, to support NIST ?s program of work to accelerate the approval of National and International standards in support of the Homeland Security requirements of the United States of America. The period of performance shall be December 20, 2004 through November 30, 2004. This is a sole source requirement as ITI Standards Secretariat is the primary U.S. focus of standardization in the field of Information and Communications Technologies and also INCITS serves as the American National Standards Institute?s (ANSI) Technical Advisory Groups for ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee 1 on Information Technology (JTC 1) is responsible for International standardization in the field of Information Technology. A Fixed price purchase order will be issued on or about December 14, 2004. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition.
