Description
SCOPE OF WORK SUBCONTRACTOR shall supply all labor, supervision, technical, engineering and administrative services, fabrication, materials, tools, consumables (such as mockups and the like, and including safety supplies), construction equipment, transportation, temporary facilities (unless indicated elsewhere in the subcontract documents as supplied by others), quality control, insurance, inspection, testing, certifications, receiving, handling and storage of SUBCONTRACTOR?S furnished HVAC Ductwork materials, and any other items of Work that may become necessary to provide and install a complete HVAC Ductwork system including HVAC insulation and performance of HVAC Ductwork leak testing for a complete HVAC Ductwork System for the Analytical Laboratory (LAB) building. Electronic HVAC design drawing including support locations coordinated with building structural drawings will be furnished to SUBCONTRACTOR for development of SUBCONTRACTOR?S shop drawings. Rough order of magnitude indicate that the subcontract will contain about 160,000 lbs of galvanized sheet metal, 48,000 lbs of stainless steel sheet metal, and about 50,000 lbs of duct supports. SUBCONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the structural design of the ductwork and the duct supports, per SMACNA, including seismic bracing. The structural design shall be done by a licensed professional engineer. SUBCONTRACTOR shall furnish and install inline equipment, including heating coils, humidifiers, dampers, fire dampers, grilles, registers, and diffusers. SUBCONTRACTOR shall furnish and install 5 small general ventilation fans for C1 areas, and 3 electric unit heaters. SUBCONTRACTOR has the responsibility to obtain all applicable federal, state and local permits, licenses, inspections and approvals required for the installation. SUBCONTRACTOR will be required to provide and set up temporary facilities (including required electrical utilities) at the Project 200 East Area Project site to perform the LAB HVAC ductwork Work. In addition SUBCONTRACTOR shall have the capability to perform any corrective work required related to SUBCONTRACTOR?S work on the installed ductwork system Work. SUBCONTRACTOR is responsible for performing WORK in a manner to provide safe and efficient installation. DOE requires a technically defensible graded approach to the application of quality assurance requirements. QL-1 is the highest quality assurance level requiring a quality assurance program that addresses Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 830, Subpart A and ASME NQA-1/1989. Commercial Grade (CM) quality level is the lowest quality assurance level requiring a quality assurance program that address?s DOE Order 414.1A. This Subcontract contains CM scope of work only. SUBCONTRACTOR shall be responsible for coordinating work activities with other installation trades. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will have Plant Design General and ductwork general arrangements and orthographics to represent the complexity of the Work and access. The Analytical Laboratory building general description is as follows: Analytical Laboratory ? The Lab is 210 ft wide by 345ft long by approximately 54 ft high with 2nd level mezzanine area that extends above finish floor. The building has a steel frame structure with exterior insulated metal sandwich panel. The building is constructed to accommodate Hot Cell Bays, Radiological Lab Area, HEPA Filter, Exhaust Fan Area, Mezzanine area, Support/Administrative Area, and associated components. Offerors engineering and scheduling software tools must be compatible with Primavera Project Planner (P3). WORK EXCLUDED Ductwork design and support location Furnishing and the Installation of the following, Air handling units Large Fans HEPA filter housing Exhaust stack HVAC air system testing and balancing Piping (CHW, Steam, Condensate) Instrumentation and controls Electrical work Caulking and Fire sealing of annular space around duct penetrations STANDARDS A. National Association (SMACNA) F. American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) G. Underwriter?s Laboratories Inc. (UL) H.
