Description

Pre-Solicitation--IFB N68711-04-B-7718, A NEW CURATION BUILDING (TP-040038R) Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, CA. The work includes furnishing all materials, labor, equipment and supervision and incidental related work. The work includes site preparation for new access road to the specified site of approximately 500 L.F. of 30 ft. wide asphalt surfacing and minimum of 3 parking spaces adjacent to the new Curation Facility. Curation Facility site shall be considered as Phase I of a future Museum/Visitors Center complex. Site placement shall take into consideration area fill, in order to bring floor elevation above the 100-year flood plain. Building construction shall be of prefabricated metal framework and in context of being an integral part of future Phase II Museum/Visitors complex. The proposed building, approximately 2,500 sq. ft., includes an office area for two employees, a toilet room (barrier free), a lab area and separate curation and file storage areas. The building shall be provided with an HVAC system with individual controls for the curation/file storage areas. Interior finish of painted gypsum board shall be provided throughout with special wainscot protection considered in curation storage area. California Title 21 requirements for building energy efficiency shall be met or exceeded. An overall building fire alarm as well as automatic fire sprinkler system and security system shall be provided. A Quality Control Program will be required as set forth in the Contract Specifications. Only one site visit will be offered. Meet at the ROICC Office, Bldg. 1138T1. Bid Opening 2:00 PM, local time, 02 Feb 2005. Duration of contract 180 calendar days. Estimated Cost Range between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This is a Firm Fixed Price contract. This procurement is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. NOTE: Bids submitted in response to this advertisement will be evaluated in compliance with FAR Clause 52.219-4, Notice of Price Evaluation Preference for HUBZone Small Business Concerns (Jan 1999), which is applicable to this solicitation. NAICS Code 236220/SIC Code 1542. The related Small Business Size Standard is $28.5 Million. The Government intends to issue this solicitation through the use of the Internet. Plans and Specifications will NOT be directly provided in a paper hard copy format. Notification of any changes to this solicitation (amendments) shall be made only on the Internet.
