Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, with Advanced Technology Institute, Charleston, SC under authority of FAR 13.106-1b, Soliciting From a Single Source, in order to allow NIST to Accelerate the Development and Implementation of ISO 10303, commonly known as STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product model data) The period of performance shall be January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005. This is a sole source requirement as Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) allows companies to effectively exchange information with their worldwide partners, customers and suppliers, as well as internally. A Fixed price purchase order will be issued on or about December 15, 2004. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition.
