STATEMENT OF NEED DELUXE COMFORT 24 – 32 PASSENGER TOUR BUS 03 DECEMBER 2004 ITEM DESCRIPTION The contractor shall furnish 24 (min) – 32 (max) passenger deluxe comfort tour bus. The bus will be used by the Aviano AB Information, Ticket, and Tour office to offer military members and their dependents various one day and overnight tours throughout Italy and surrounding European countries. These tours consist of sightseeing tours, shopping tours, and recreational outings such as ski trips and trips to the beach. Individual passenger comfort on the tours is extremely important as they maybe traveling up to eight (8) hours per day. American customers are used to more leg space between seats and seats should widen into the aisle as well, to allow for more space for customer traveling side by side on long distances. Internal climate control must adjust to the varied outdoor temperature ranges, (highs and lows) found in European countries surrounding Italy. Tours will be traveling through the most common motorways in Europe to include the Alps and through city centers where roads maybe narrow. The bus will also be parking in a variety of parking spaces from large parking lots made for buses to small spaces where the assistance of a rear facing video system is required. On some tours, passengers will be traveling with luggage or may require space to store large purchases made on the tours.
