Description
THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of the Navy, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Headquarters, Building 2272, 47123 Buse Road, Patuxent River, Maryland 20670, intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Ausley Associates, 46611 Corporate Drive, Suite 101, Lexington Park, MD 20653 for the procurement of continued systems engineering and architecture analysis engineering (SEAAE) laboratory support to the Battlespace Systems Engineering (BSE) Team. Given the nature of the effort, this is a sole source action to award a contract for a period of performance from the date of award through 30 September 2005. The applicable NAICS Code is 541330 (Engineering Services). Ausley Associates will perform the following major functions: Addressing systems engineering at the Battlespace and Family of Systems or System of Systems level to ensure early identification and resolution of naval/mission capability, integration and interoperability issues; translating naval/mission capability packages and capability gaps to terms that are relevant to program offices that need to acquire system capabilites through the Joint Integration and Development Systems (JCIDS); leading the development of an integrated naval aviation architecture; and assessing interface changes that impact interoperability and integration in battlespace. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. 2304?(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. While this notice of intent is for information purposes only and not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may identify their interest and technical capability, respond to this requirement and may submit information, which shall be considered by NAVAIR.
