- Medical Supplies - Potential Sources Sought Military Hospitals: (Army, Navy, Air Force) Southwest Region Safety Huber Needles: Standardization Point of Contact: Cindy Ingrao, Clinical Consultant, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, Southwest Region, San Diego, CA. Telephone: (619) 532-8517. Potential sources sought to participate in the regional standardization of Safety Huber Needles. Southwest Region, a military integrated delivery network (IDN), comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical treatment centers in California are in the process of standardizing Safety Huber Needles. If your company currently holds or is in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP) for Safety Huber Needles, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. Please respond by Email to: cingrao@nmcsd.med.navy.mil and provide your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax and E-mail address and answers to the below listed questions no later than December 29, 2004. For questions, please call (619) 532-8517. 1. Does your company manufacture or distribute safety Huber needles? 2. Are your products available through the Prime Vendor, Owens & Minor? 3. What is your DAPA number? 4. Under what brand(s) does your company manufacture or distribute your product? 5. Under what standards is your product manufactured? 6. Is your product latex free? 7. Is your product DEHP free? 8. Is your product PVC free? 9. What material(s) is your product made of? 10.What type of needle is used in your product? 11.Does your product have any sharp edges other than the needle? 12.How does the safety feature of your product work? 13.Does your product have an audible click identifying the safety feature has been activated? 14.Can your product be disposed of in a sharps container? 15.How is your product packaged? 16.Other than the needle, is your product packaged as sterile or non-sterile? 17.Is the drawing port needleless? If so, what type of port does your product have (luer lock or luer slip)? 18.Is your product compatible with all currently available indwelling ports? 19.Is your product single-use? 20.Is your product a single piece or multiple pieces? 21.Is the use and function of the product easily identifiable on the packaging? 22.Do your products come in different sizes? If so, what sizes? Are these sizes color-coded? 23.How many steps does it take to use your product? Please list these steps? 24.Does this product require in-service training? If so, is this training provided by your company at no cost? 25.Does your company provide customer service 24/7? 26.Is there any history of backorders and/or recalls for this product group?
