- The Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center at Rock Island Arsenal intends to issue a sole source contract, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, to Gener al Dynamics Armament and Technical Product, Inc (GDATP), Marion, VA, for the shelter manufacture for 16 Petroleum Quality Assurance System (PQAS) units with a 100% option for an additional 16 units. A purchase description of the shelter units is as follow s: This purchase is for 14 tan (00125900102) and two camo (00125900104) PQAS shelters. This design has been modified per previous SOWs and the current SOW. SOW changes were generally resulting from field trials, test findings, and per customer requests. These shelters will be manufactured to comply with MIL-PRF-44408 requirements for a type II shelter except modified for an expanding roof and excludes Chemical Avoidance Protective Entrance (CAPE) and Gas Particulate Filter Unit (GPFU) and SICPS specific requirements. The shelters are designed to be transported on both M1037 and M1097 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles. The function of these shelters is to house and protect the Petroleum Quality Analysis System (PQAS) from the damaging effects of the environment. Shelters are EMI compliant. The expanded height shelter dimensions allow for the 95th percentile male soldier in battle dress uniform to stand erect during operation and the shelter roof will be lowered to meet transport profiles MIL- PRF-44408 paragraphs 3.2.3 Shelter configuration and 3.2.3.2. (approximate) Shelter dimensions and 3.2.13 Interface requirements. This design is covered in technical manual TM10-6640-242-13-@P. Custom Designed Shelter with expanding roof, Roof lifting sy stem with recirculating, caged ball nut design, Roof locking system, Roof access steps w/roof handle, Combo 10KW generator w/26,000BTU Environmental Control Unit w/purge features and EMI hardened, Exhaust System, EMI Compliant to, Laboratory countertops w/ mounting rail system, Laboratory cabinets: Three drawer cabinet, SPA Cabinet, Customer designated insert patterns, Personnel entry door and secondary exit door, Custom Electrical System, AC, DC, GFI, Antenna interface and customer designated computer inte rface.
