Description
The Department of Defense (DOD) Soldier Systems Center, Natick, Massachusetts seeks sources for commercial or production ready interoperable communications equipment. This equipment is intended to provide an interoperable communications capability t o WMD incident responders donned in fully encapsulated protective gear. These responders must be able to communicate with a variety of public safety personnel (e.g., local law enforcement, fire, and HAZMAT personnel, as well as key members from the incide nt command center). The Government will review the manufacturer's interoperable communications equipment using a user defined analytical hierarchy process to determine the value of the products representative participation in an operational assessment wit h the goal of generating generic configuration descriptions for multiple ensemble component combinations. This survey announcement is intended to identify existing equipment (commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) items are highly desired) that could be utilized by federal emergency first responders (e.g., National Guard, U.S. Army Reserves, and the Chemical Biologic al Incident Response Force). There is no commitment on the part of the government to award a contract as a result of the request for information or to pay for the information received.
