- The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has the requirement for an organization that has the capability to develop and test a new methodology for mental health, Health Professional Shortage Areas(HPSA.) The contractor will be tasked to develop new methodology for geographic, population, and facility mental health HPSAs by establishing a Mental Health Designation Advisory Workgroup of not more than fifteen(15) persons. The group shall include representatives from community health, state primary care offices, rural and urban areas, and include mental health professional organizations. The contractor will have the group meet to discuss and explain the use of mental health HPSAs, the process for determining designations, and other relevant information. The contractor shall test the proposed new mental health methodology on a statistically significant number of current HPSAs to determine impact on current HPSA designations, and the impact on specific populations and any other federal programs. The planned period of performance is for a twenty-four(24) month contract. The solicitation will be issued on or about January 12, 2005. Interested offerors may download a copy of solicitation number HRSA-05-N-230-5252mc and the solicitation cover letter at the Government website at www.fbo.gov under the HHS, Health Resources and Services Administration, posted dates. This procurement is subject to the availability of Fiscal Year 2005 funding. It is the offerors responsibility to monitor the site for amendments to the solicitation.
