Added Note: The following question was asked and the answer is provided to assist in the formulation of submitted quotes. Question: Are you refering to simultaneous dual emissions for Fluorescence? Answer: The microplate reader must be capable of simultaneous dual emission for fast FRET (Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) and BRET (Bioluminescence Resonance Energy Transfer) measurements. ********************************************************* The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the Department of Defense (DoD) Medical School and Health Sciences University has a requirement to purchase a microplate reader, utilizing the authority of FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in conjunction with Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The microplate reader must have the following minimum specifications: 1. Must have four measurement principles: a) Fluorescence b) Time Resolved Fluorescence c) Visible and Low UV Absorbance d) Glow Luminesnescence (and flash luminescence with injectors) 2. Must have high performance luminescence mode with photon counting (2,000,000 counts per second maximum). 3. Must have a 384 well dual luciferase-ready reader. 4. Must be upgradeable to a 60 degree incubator and be able to accommodate two internal reagent injectors. 5. Must be capable of fluorescence polarization. 6. Must be able to do simultaneous dual emissions. 7. Must have a range of detection of 250nm to 740nm. All interested vendors shall refer all questions and submission of quotes to Michelle Creenan, Contract Specialist, until 3:00 p.m. (EST), on December 21, 2004. After this date until the close of this posting all questions and submission of quotes shall be directed to Debbie Rosa, Contract Specialist. Award will be based technical, price and past performance. FAR provisions and clauses incorporated by reference are: Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items, clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, and clause 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items.
