- The Coast Guard has a requirement for all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydocking and repairs to the USCGC BOLLARD (WYTL 65614), a 65 Foot ?D? Class Harbor Tug. The homepier of the cutter is New Haven, Connecticut. This procurement is also geographically restricted to Manomet Pt, MA, Hudson River up to the Troy Locks, NY and the D1/D5 Boundary at Toms River and Shrewsbury River, NJ. The performance period is for 52 days. Award will be made to the responsible contractor whose offer, conforming to the RFQ, will be most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611. This procurement is a small business set-aside. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The solicitation and specification will be issued on or about January 22, 2005. This work is such as, but not limited to: Welding Repairs, Clean Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, Renew Shaft Coverings, Straighten Shaft, Renew Water Lubricated Shaft Bearings, Renew Propeller Shaft Sleeve, Renew Stern Tube Sleeve, Renew Strut Sleeve, Renew Stuffing Box Sleeve, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers, Perform Minor Repairs and Reconditioning of Propeller, Clean and test Grid Coolers, Preserve Transducer Hull Ring and adapter, Overhaul and renew valves, Inspect and Test Air Receivers and Relief Valve, Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assembly, Renew Rudder Upper Carrier Bearing Assembly and Seals, Renew Rudder Lower Bearing Assembly, Renew Rudder Pintle Bearing Assembly, Inspect Various Deck Fittings, Preserve Underwater Body, Draft Mark Painting, Renew Cathodic Protection System, Provide Temporary Messing and Berthing, Provide Temporary Logistics, Routine Drydocking, Renew Duplex Sea Strainer, Clean Exhaust Pipes, Renew Handrails, Stanchions, and Gussets, Renew Stuffing Tubes and Install Transit Blocks, Preserve Freeboard, Overhaul Steering Gear System, Inspect and Upgrade Welds in Berthing, Sewage Void, and Forepeak Frames and Shell Plating, Preserve Bilge Surfaces in Lazarette, Preserve Bilge Surfaces in Port and Starboard Voids, Preserve Bilge Surfaces in Main Hold, Preserve Surface In Sewage Void Compartment, Preserve Surfaces in Forepeak Compartment, Preserve Surfaces in Crew Berthing Area . All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. Funds are available for this procurement. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. This procurement is a small business set aside.
