Description
In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration's Acquisition Management System (AMS) Section 3.2.1.12, the FAA Alaskan Region is posting an announcement for the requirement of an Avionics Installation Contract. The Contractor selected will perform installations of Garmin GDL-90 UAT Data Link Sensor Upgrades in approximately 160 IFR and VFR aircraft participating in the FAA Alaskan Region Capstone Phase I Program. The solicitation is being advertised as full and open competition. The issue date of the solicitation package is anticipated to be on or about December 30, 2004, with a closing date for offers to be submitted on or about January 20, 2005. Requests for the solicitation package must be in writing to Nancy A. Eckroth, FAA, Acquisition Management Branch, AAL-59A, 222 W. 7th Avenue, #14, Anchorage, AK 99513, by fax to (907) 271-2326, or emailed to Nancy.Eckroth@faa.gov. Only a small number of solicitation packages will be printed. To ensure you receive a solicitation package, requests for the package must be received by close of business, January 10, 2005. "This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
