Description
This is a synopsis for a commercial service for maintenance and repair of the Dredge Ship Wheeler. The requirement is a small business set-aside with a NAICS Code of 336611 and size standard of 1,000. The US Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans intend s to award a one year contract with four option years for ship repair services. The successful offeror will provide all necessary labor, supervision, tools, supplies, materials, equipment, machine shop facilities, and transportation to perform inspection, maintenance, and repairs to the hull, dredging, propulsion, and auxiliary systems aboard the U.S. Dredge WHEELER on a recurring basis. The ship WHEELER is the New Orleans Districts (NOD) 400 foot hopper dredge which performs dredging projects along the Mi ssissippi River, Gulf Coast, and in other Districts as determined. The successful offer will provide welders and outside machinists, as well as inside machinists with a machine shop located within 100 highway miles of the Wheelers home dock in New Orlean s, LA. It is the intent of USACE NOD to award a performance based service contract with a base year and four option years. The solicitation will be issued on or about 22 Dec 2004 with proposals due on or about 28 Jan 2005. The exact date and time for Propo sals to be received will be indicated on the SF1449 Solicitation. Proposals received timely will be evaluated and the proposal determined to provide the best value to the Government will be selected for contract award. Anticipated award date is on or befor e 01 March 2005. The solicitation will be posted to the New Orleans District website, http://www.mvn.usace.army.mil/EBS_Contracting/index.asp and be available for download by interested parties on or about 22 Dec 2004.
