Description

The VAMC Dayton is searching for an Engineering firm capable of the following: Provide complete design services, including all necessary schematics, design development, cost estimate, and construction drawings and specifications, to replace corroded and/or outdated sprinkler heads and some associated piping and system components on the Dayton VA Medical Center, 4100 West Third Street. Design shall include the installation of quick response sprinklers (QRS) in all necessary areas, except where specifically prohibited (e.g., high temperature areas as defined in NFPA 13, elevator shafts, or elevator machine rooms) buildings: 410, 401, 330, 320, 315, 143, 129, and 120, and additional buildings as determined necessary. Sprinklers shall be Factory Mutual (FM) approved. Design shall provide recommendations for the most cost effective system as well as the priority of work as it relates to building locations and potential for system failure. The schematics, design development and construction documents shall be developed in accordance with the following listed Department of Veterans Affairs References: 1. Program Guide PG-18-15, Volume C, A/E Submission Instruction Schematics, Design Development and Construction Documents 2. Handbook 7610, Space Planning Criteria for VA facilities 3. Program Guide PG-18-1, Master Construction Specifications 4. VHA PG-18-3, Design and Construction Standards 5. Program Guide PG-18-4, Standard Details 6. Design Manuals PG-18-10, Design Manuals by Discipline 7. Handbook PG-18-14, Room Finishes, Door and Hardware Schedule 8. VAMC's Unique Design This is not a request for proposal. Area of consideration limited to 200-mile radius of Dayton, OH. Firms desiring consideration shall submit SF 330, including full service of disciplines, no later than close of business 1/21/05. SF 330s must be sent to: VA Medical Center (90C), Attn: Bob Ivey, 4100 West Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428. Specific Requirements/Needs - will be provided at negotiations session. This procurement is set-aside for Emerging Small Business (ESB). ESB means a small business concern whose size is no greater than 50 percent of the numerical size standard to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to a contracting opportunity. The NAICS for this opportunity is 541330. The size standard for Small Business is $4.0 million. (SEE NUMBERED NOTE #24: Substitute SF 330 wherever this note specifies SF 254/255)
