- Description
- The Lexington-Concord Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) in participation with the USAF Electronic Systems Center (ESC) is pleased to announce a two-day symposium to be held on 26-27 January 2005. The Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom AFB, MA is one of the Air Force Materiel Command's major acquisition centers. ESC specializes in the acquisition of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems. AFCEA's New Horizons Symposium provides a forum for ESC to exchange information with industry on new business direction and specific business opportunities. The symposium will focus on new and emerging business opportunities in ESC's portfolio of programs and how ESC plans to procure these systems. As a byproduct of this exchange, industry also receives information on changes/updates to DoD acquisition strategies and business practices. New this year is a senior-level panel presenting views and open discussion on current industry/government procurement issues. ESC's Commander, Lt Gen Charles L. Johnson II, will present the Annual State of ESC Message at a luncheon concluding the symposium on 27 January 2005. The registration fee of $450 for members and $480 for non-members will be used to defray expenses incidental to the conduct of the symposium. For active duty military/civilians the registration fee is $250. This includes printing and mailing costs, administrative expenses, refreshments, and a contribution to the Chapter's General Fund. Also included in the Program Activities is a luncheon on both days, and a reception on the evening of the 26th. All lodging and transportation arrangements are the responsibility of the attendees. The Renaissance Bedford Hotel in Bedford, MA (781-275-5500) is the conference hotel and a block of rooms has been reserved. To receive the AFCEA conference room rate of $129 reservations must be made no later than 11 January 2005. Please mention AFCEA when making your reservations to ensure reduced rate. To register, submit the attached form with payment and mail to Lexington-Concord Chapter, AFCEA, at the address shown. Telephone registrations will not be accepted. The cut-off date for registration is 11 January 2005. At that time, your registration will be confirmed and additional administrative details will be furnished to you. Cancellations must be made by 11 January 2005 to receive refund payment. Please note that each registration fee covers one attendee only. Attendance is limited to 300 persons. Reservations will be taken on first-come, first serve basis. A large response is anticipated, so please register early. Tickets to attend the annual "State of ESC" Luncheon only are also available. (Note: Priority availability of seating for the luncheon will be given to attendees of the New Horizons Symposium.) Reservations and payment of $40 for industry and $20 for active duty military/civilians must be received by 11 January 2004. This luncheon will be held on Friday, January 27 beginning at 12:30 p.m. www.afceaboston.com
