Description

Notice of Intent to award a single source contract. The US Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 3, Fort Snelling, Minnesota, has a requirement to develop a preliminary restoration/remediation goal (PRG) for sediments in the Grand Calumet River/Indiana Harbor Canal Area of Concern to determine standards for cleanup. This work is part of a natural resource damage assessment. MacDonald Environmental Sciences Ltd. (MESL) assisted the Fish and Wildlife Service and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources in the gathering, inputting, and review for quality control over 69K sediment quality data points and created a GIS-based database to determine the extent of contamination of the site. MESL possesses the specific skills and knowledge for the sediment PRG with the site-specific database created and continually refined by the firm and would avoid the risks of quality problems involved with a database transfer and startup. Award Date: January, 2005.
