Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The Federal Bureau of Prisons plans to issue IFB VIM-0001 for expansion of the freezer storage (food products) and garage/vehicle maintenance facilities at the Federal Correctional Complex located in Victorville, California. The contractor will be responsible for provision of all tools, equipment, manpower, and supplies necessary to complete the work. The work includes the following: Warehouse area: One 2,922 square foot (usable space) walk-in freezer with heated sub-floor and equipment and accessories necessary for complete installation and functionality. Garage area: (1) 140 linear feet fencing of 10' high chain link fence with 16' double swing gate; (2) Fluid delivery system (antifreeze, transmission fluid, motor oil); (3) Two 9,000 lb. dual-post vehicle lifts; (4) Vehicle exhaust system with seven vehicle exhaust ports; (5) Two 36" x 80" metal doors with handles and hinges (demolition of steel/concrete walls required for door installation); (6) One 8' x 20' hazardous materials building with power, fire suppression system, lighting, etc.; (7) Dismantle existing canopy and install new 28' x 45' canopy; (8) One 1,000-gallon double containment oil tank with associated equipment/gauges; (9) Two air and water supply reels (ceiling mounted); (10) One evaporative cooling system with standing steel support structure; and (11) One 104-vehicle parking lot with base and asphalt on bare land. The magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The period of performance for the resulting contract is 90 calendar days from notice to proceed. The NAICS code for this requirement is 236220; the small business size standard is $28.5 million. Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the Federal Bureau of Prisons must be registered at www.ccr.gov. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. The solicitation will be available on or about November 3, 2004, with an anticipated bid opening date of December 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. local time. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will NOT be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this solicitation, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
