Description

A Market Survey is being conducted to determine if there are adequate Section 8(a) and/or HUBZone contractors for this proposed contract for either a Section 8(a) or HUBZone Business Competitive Set-Aside Award. The proposed contract is for Construc tion of a 2,966 SM facility consisting of a concrete foundation and floor slab, structural steel framework, and concrete masonry unit wall with maintenance-free exterior finish. It also entails the renovation and expansion of an existing joint forces fitn ess center facility which includes expansion of the men's and women's locker rooms, the gym, the free weight training room, resistance weight training and cardio vascular room and construction of a new group exercise room and one racquetball court. The ex isting administrative space (329 SM) will be removed. This project is planned for advertisement in May 2005 with award scheduled in late July 2005. Contract duration is estimated at 365 calendar days. NAICS Code is 236220. The size standard is $28.5 mil lion. The estimated cost range is between $5,000,000.00 to $10,000,000.00. 20% of the work is to be self-performed. All interested Section 8(a) and/orHUBZone contractors should notify this office in writing by mail or fax by 14 January 2005, 4:30 PM Lou isville Local Time. Responses should include (1) Identification of company as Section 8(a) or HUBZone contractor, (2) Past Experience - Describe completed projects that are similar in size and scope to the proposed project, the percentage of self-performe d work and how that was accomplished, (3) Capability of obtaining performance and payment bonds for a project in the dollar range listed above, and (4) a statement verifying the contractor will self-perform 20% of the work and how it will be accomplished. NOTE: If qualified Section 8(a) or HUBZone firms do not respond, this planned contract action will be converted to a full and open competition.
