Description

The Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to BAE Systems Mission Solutions, Inc., 11487 Sunset Hills Road, Reston, Virginia 20190-5234. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)  only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Topographic Engineering Center (TEC) TI&G Operations Divisions and Divisions requirements consists of annual maintenance for the right to receive upgrades, patches, fixes, and software support from BAE Systems for previously purchased SocetSet photogrammetric imagery proces sing software. This is a proprietary mapping software, which is used in precise registration and product generation of aerial imagery, from many sources. The upgrade entitlements for the following Socet Set modules includes phone and email support and enti tlement to all upgrades to the software released during the period of performance: Socet Set Core module (3), Socet Set Stereo Module (3), Socet Set Multi-Sensor Triangulation Module (3), Socet Set Automatic Terrain Extraction Module (3), Socet Set Interac tive Terrain Editor Module (3), Socet Set Feature Extraction Module (3), Socet Set Ortho Module (3), Socet Set Advanced Sensor Module (3), and Socet Data ThruWay Module(1). Period of performance for the software maintenance is one (1) year. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to provide this supply or service in writing to the identified point of contact not later that 1600 hrs CST on 7 January 200 5.. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open compe tition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFQ will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
