- Description
- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) intends to increase the contract ceiling for the Smiths Detection Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) contract. This contract action will provide a six (6) month bridge to fulfill potential TSA ETD requirements until a new Qualified Vendors List (QVL) is established. Currently, TSA has ETD contracts with Smiths Detection, General Electric (GE) Ion Track and Thermo Detection. Both GE Ion Track and Thermo Detection have sufficient contract ceiling to fulfill TSA?s potential ETD requirements over the next six (6) months. This action with Smiths Detection enables TSA to maintain three competitive sources for fulfillment of ETD requirements until a new ETD QVL is established.
