Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Messer Griesheim Industries, Inc. in Jessup, MD for the rental of Messer Griesheim Industries, Inc. provided liquid dewars for the period of date of award through September 30, 2005. ***Sole source determination is based on liquid helium being purchased, under a separate purchase order, from Messer Griesheim Industries, Inc.. Liquids are delivered in Messer Griesheim Industries, Inc. owned dewars and NIST is required to pay rental charges on these dewars until the dewars are returned. As Messer Griesheim Industries, Inc. owns all dewars; Messer Griesheim Industries, Inc. is the sole source for this requirement.***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 325120, and the size standard is 500 employees.***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by January 13, 2005 .*** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any questions or concerns regarding this notice of intent should be forwarded in writing to the Purchasing Agent (Joni Laster) via e-mail @ joni.laster@nist.gov before the response date referenced in this notice.
