Description

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award a sole source, Firm Fixed Price contract (base and four (4) option years) to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) to provide compatibility and interchangeability between FHWA and State Department of Transportations (DOTs). State DOTs are currently connected to AAMVA's closed secure network and through the network are active participants in FHWA's Electronic Data Sharing program. Use of the AASHTO network is required to provide compatibility and interchangeability between FHWA and State DOTs in accessing computer applications and submitting data relating to the funding of the Federal Aid Highway program, and other FHWA programs. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide closed secure access to a nationwide computer network for applications access and the data exchange between FHWA and State DOTs. No other known source can provide the required service. See Note 22.
