Description

This solicitation is amended as follows: A. The date for the submission of the proposals is changed as follows: FROM: 4:00 PM Central Time on 19 January 2005 TO: 4:00 PM Central Time on 20 January 2005. B. Technical performance and material properties are of greater importance than price. All of this material is specially formed ferrite (MO,Fe2,O3). In order to meet the overall performance required across the frequency bands, some of the materials are mounted and combined together to form a 'Hybrid' layered pyramidal ferrite absorber product. C. CLIN 0004, delete the phrase, ?field mounted after flat panels are mounted to chamber walls.? D. FAR CLAUSE 52.212-2, Evaluation, Commercial Items is hereby deleted. E. FAR CLAUSE 52.211-6, Brand Name or Equal, is hereby incorporated and reads as follows: (a) If an item in this solicitation is identified as ?brand name or equal,? the purchase description reflects the characteristics and level of quality that will satisfy the Government?s needs. The salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics that ?equal? products must meet are specified in the solicitation. (b) To be considered for award, offers of ?equal? products, including ?equal? products of the brand name manufacturer, must?(1) Meet the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristic specified in this solicitation; (2) Clearly identify the item by?(i) Brand name, if any; and (ii) Make or model number; (3) Include descriptive literature such as illustrations, drawings, or a clear reference to previously furnished descriptive data or information available to the Contracting Officer; and (4) Clearly describe any modification the offeror plans to make in a product to make it conform to the solicitation requirements. Mark any descriptive material to clearly show the modification. (c) The Contracting Officer will evaluate ?equal? products on the basis of information furnished by the offeror or identified in the offer and reasonably available to the Contracting Officer. The Contracting Officer is not responsible for locating or obtaining any information not identified in the offer. (d) Unless the offeror clearly indicates in its offer that the product being offered is an ?equal? product, the offeror shall provide the brand name product referenced in the solicitation. The salient characteristics are as follows: CLIN 0001, BSS P/N SS24046T-3 or equal is a 100mmx100mmx6.7mm flat ferrite tile. The individual tiles (6x6 array :36 per panel) are mounted to dielectric backer boards (5/8"x2'x2') to form a total of 32 , 2' x 2' panels. RF absorption for the individual tiles must be at least -20dB @ 30 MHz. and -10dB @ 1 GHz. CLIN 0002, BSS P/N SS24046T-2 or equal is basically the same as the -3 except it is designed to cover twice the area (approx. 64 ea. 2'x2' panels) and forms the base which the SS24046T or equal is mounted to. CLIN 0003, BSS P/N SS24046T-1 or equal is a special grid design of the ferrite tile material 100mmx100mmx17.6mm with RF absorption of -22dB @ 30 MHz. and -15dB at 1 GHz. The SS24046T-1 is also mounted to dielectric backer boards (64 ea, 2'x2' panels). CLIN 0004, BSS P/N SS24046T or equal is 200mmx200mmx80mm pyramidal ferrite material with 16 pyramids on each panel. RF absorption performance for the pyramidal tile is -10dB @ 1 GHz. and -30dB @ 10 GHz. The required combined 'Hybrid' performance of both the SS2406T-2 and SS24046T is -25dB @ 100 MHz. and -25dB @ 10 GHz. F. FAR CLAUSE 52.252-2, is incorporated in full text and reads as follows: This contract incorporates one or more clauses by reference, with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text. Upon request, the Contracting Officer will make their full text available. Also, the full text of a clause may be accessed electronically at this/these address(es): http://farsite.hill.af.mil. G. FAR CLAUSE 52.252-6 is incorporated in full text and reads as follows: (a) The use in this solicitation or contract of any Federal Acquisition Regulation (48 CFR Chapter 1) clause with an authorized deviation is indicated by the addition of ?(DEVIATION)? after the date of the clause. (b) The use in this solicitation or contract of any DFARS (48 CFR Chapter 2) clause with an authorized deviation is indicated by the addition of ?(DEVIATION)? after the name of the regulation. H. All other terms and conditions remain the same.
