Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a sole source, firm-fixed price modification to contract N00019-05-C-0021 with Votaw Precision Technologies, Inc. 13153 Lakeland Road, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. This procurement will repair/refurbish specialized Center Barrel Replacement (CBR) tooling to support F/A-18 Airframe Change (AFC) Number 316, Part 2. This AFC is required to facilitate the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) as part of the F/A-18 weapons system product improvement. Votaw has extensive prior experience with assembly, setup and installation of AFC-316 close tolerance tooling on Naval Air Depot sites. The size, precision, and accuracy requirements of AFC-316 Part 2 tooling requires specialized equipment, in environmentally controlled spaces. Votaw possess providing the capability to perform all fabrication, assembly, and inspection in house. Votaw is ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100A registered, Welding Qualified to D1.1, D1.2, MIL-STD-2219, MIL-STD-1595, Inspector qualified to CWI, ASQC, NDT Level II. Votaw?s personnel are USN Category 3 certified for crane and rigging operation and the main frame installation requires crane and rigging operations inside a U.S. Navy Hangar. In addition, The U.S. Navy (USN) requires AFC-316 Part 2 tooling installed in conjunction with AFC-316 basic tooling to meet its program requirements. As a result, Votaw is the only responsible source possessing the unique knowledge and manufacturing experience to provide the requisite supplies/services to support the within the required time frame.
