- Anticipated commercial work by the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). WSMR anticipates providing services to commercial entities under the provisions of Title 10 of the United States Code, section 2681. The general nature of the anticipated commercial work is as follows: 1. ENVIRONMENTAL TESTING: Testing and analysis of equipment/systems that may be exposed to environmental (dynamic/climatic/ nuclear radiation) extremes or conditions conducive to stressing system performance. 2. SMALL ARMS FIRE: Testing and analysis of small arms ballistic parameters and effects in an open air range. 3. C4ISR SYSTEM TESTING: Testing of C4ISR systems in a virtual and open air environment. 4. GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (GPS) ANALYSIS: Complete analysis of GPS systems and equipment/systems with embedded GPS capabilities are tested in a virtual and open air environment. 5. HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEERING/RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, MAINTAINABILITY (HFE/RAM): Equipment/systems are tested to ensure they can be effective ly operated and maintained in the intended military environment. 6. METEOROLOGICAL INFORMATION: Meteorological information to include upper air and surface data. 7. OPEN AIR RANGE TESTING: A fully integrated open air test range with communications, preci sion tracking radar, surveillance radar, telemetry, interactive control and display systems, and data reduction and analysis capabilities, provides data on manned/unmanned ground and airborne platform performance and their associated payloads. 8. EMI/EMC TESTING: Perform electromagnetic interference/ compatibility testing and analysis in accordance with MIL-STD-461/462, RTCA-DO-160, MIL-STD-464, and other national/international standards. Tests are done on electronic equipment and systems to determine its contribution to and impact from the RF environment in which it operates. 9. MACHINE SHOP: Provide fabrication of mechanical components. Private sector entities are invited to submit expressions of capability to perform services of the same general nature as listed above. This information will be maintained in a file and made available to prospective customers for their use in determining if private sector enterprises may be able to satisfy their requirements.
