- Description: The Environmental Protection Agency's Region II Emergency and Remedial Response Division desires professional and technical support services in the assessment of contaminated or potentially contaminated sites including Brownfields. Brownfields are abandoned, idled, or under-used industrial and commercial facilities where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by real or perceived environmental contamination. Under this procurement, the contractor will assist the Agency in the site assessment process, which consists of the evaluation and the placement of sites on the EPA National Priorities List (NPL), which is commonly called the Superfund list. Technical support will be provided under assignment or technical direction letter. These services comprise the performance of site assessment and Brownfields for the Superfund program in Region II covering privately owned facilities in the states of New Jersey, New York, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands. It is anticipated that any resulting contract will have a three (3) year base period with one- two year option period competitive cost-plus- fixed fee contract. The total potential level-of-effort is 173,075 direct labor hours. The anticipated release date for the Request for Proposals (RFP) on or around February 11, 2005. The North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code for this requirement is 562910, with a size standard of 500 employees. The purpose of this Fed Biz OPPS announcement is to notify potential offerors of EPA's requirement, generate the source list, and to direct interested parties to EPA's "Business Opportunities with EPA" Internet World Wide Web site (http://www.epa.gov/oam/index.htm) for further information on this procurement as it becomes available.
