- Description
- The General Services Administration (GSA), Heartland Region, intends to solicit sources for information regarding a variety of construction projects in the state of Kansas. NO PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED AT THIS TIME. This request for information is being used as a marketing research tool to determine the availability and adequacy of potential Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns for future solicitations for construction. Based on a review of the industry responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis, the Government will decide whether it is appropriate to offer future solicitations for construction as Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business set-asides. The Government is not obligated to nor will pay for any information received from any potential sources as a result of this synopsis. The scope of future work in the state of Kansas may include but is not limited to modifications to architectural components: ceilings, walls, floors (including access floor systems), roofing systems, millwork, and wall coverings. Work may also include modification and replacement of mechanical systems to include but is not limited to the following: air handling units, chillers, boilers, duct work systems and accessories, piping systems including pumps, HVAC system controls, fire protection sprinkler systems and accessories, elevator systems, plumbing equipment and accessories. Work may also include electrical systems but is not limited to: lighting systems, primary and secondary power distribution systems and transformers. Work may also include hazardous materials abatement. Special competencies will be required for any work involving asbestos, PCBs, elevators, and roofing systems. The various construction projects will range from $2,000 to $500,000. The successful Contractor must be able to provide all personnel, equipment, materials, supervision, transportation and other items deemed necessary to perform the scope of the work. The NAICS code for this work is 236220. All offerors who are interested in future opportunities must provide the following information on their company letterhead: business size status identifying any proposed teaming arrangement, qualifications and experience for similar work for the past three (3) years in occupied facilities to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar value, project references by providing name, address and telephone numbers of the various individuals who were most familiar with the projects that you provide to include owners/tenants, bonding companies, financial institutions, architects/engineers, public officials, general contractors and any major subcontractors. In addition, evidence of bonding capability (bid, payment and performance capability), experience of construction administration and your company?s ability to comply with OSHA safety regulations. All information must be submitted in sufficient detail for an agency decision regarding availability of interested qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns. All offerors must have an active registration in Central Contractor Registration (CCR), which may be obtained at www.ccr.gov. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concern is defined as follows: (1) Not less than 51% which is owned by one or more service disabled-veterans or, in the case of any public owned business, not less than 51% of the stock of which is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans; and (2) The management and daily business operations of which are controlled by one or more service-disabled veterans or, in the case of a service disabled veteran with permanent and service disability, the spouse or permanent care-giver of such a veteran (3) Service disabled means a veteran, as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101(2) with a disability that is service connected, as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101(16).
