Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Reproductive Health (DRH) hereby announces its intent to negotiate on a sole source basis with Douglas Feldman, Ph.D., Brockport, NY, to provide services for guidance on the qualitative aspects of research including data collection methods and analysis of five formative research studies within the Women?s Health and Fertility Branch. Performance will include participating in conference calls; traveling to Atlanta two times within the next 10 months to meet with the CDC staff; providing guidance on questionaire development; providing expertise in qualitative data analysis; providing guidance and participation on 3-4 manuscripts with a lead role in manuscript writing on at least one project; and providing guidance on the use of Atlas.ti software. The five formative research projects are aimed at the prevention of HIV, sexually transmitted infections, and unintended pregnancy among women of reproductive age and their partners. Additional components of these studies are nutritional supplementation of pregnant and lactating women in Zambia, diaphragm use in Kenya and Madagascar, and disease prevention efforts among pregnant women in Russia. This announcement is being issued for informational purposes only; a request for quotation is not available. Organizations that feel they have the expertise to perform this work should submit a Capabilities Statement addressing the following criteria: 1) an advanced social or behavioral science degree and a minimum three years demonstrated experience in qualitative data analysis; 2) Demonstrated experience in qualitative research manuscript writing, provide 2 samples ; 3) Knowledge of Atlas software to facilitate the analysis of the formative data; 4) Provide a list of any past experience and publications relating to reproductive health. Responses should be submitted to Kim Groves at the above address and please reference 000HCL66-2005-16568 on your request. The agency will consider any response(s) to this announcement in determining whether or not to compete this requirement. Responses must be received within fifteen days after posting of this notice. If the agency determines to compete this requirement, a RFQ will be issued solely to the responders to this notice, and a subsequent presolicitation notice will not be issued. This acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
