Description
Sources Sought - Product Manager Target Identification and Meteorological Sensors (PM TIMS) is seeking interested sources to perform cost reduction activities on Cooperative Millimeter Wave (mmW)-based Target Identification (TI) Systems similar in na ture to equipment described by Raytheon Company Part Number PN: 902714-801. Respondents should have intimate knowledge of integrating mmW-based TI systems into military combat vehicles containing complex onboard subsystems. The cost reduction effort will center on reducing A-Kit high dollar cost drivers such as through-sight indications and vehicle specific mounting hardware and cabling, as well as reducing B Kit (mission hardware) cost drivers such as number (system quantity) and size, weight and power (SWaP) consumption of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) by leveraging commercial off the shelf electronics to the maximum extent practicable. Interested respondents should submit white papers to the technical point of contact delineated below. This announcement is issued in accordance with the requirements of Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10 to determine the applicability of Far Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. Information should be received not later than close of business (5:00pm EST) Wednesday, 02 February 2005. White papers submitted will not be returned to respondents and may be shared within and among other Government organizations outside of the Department of Defense. Respondents are cautioned not to include any company proprietary information as part of thei r white paper submissions.
