Description

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to Mail Services LC, 4100 121st St., Des Moines, IA 50323. The USDA/FSIS has a need for bulk mailing services including bi-weekly pick up, inserting, folding, metering, and auto sorting. The contractor shall have bar coding equipment and ability to bar code. Location for pick up is 4520 114th Street, Urbandale, IA. The contractor shall pick up, perform services and mail out on the same day. Travel costs and personnel costs shall be included in the overall pricing. The Service Contract Act of 1965 applies to this contract. This is not set aside based on a market search of the area. The award shall be issued in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. This will be an IDIQ Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quanity contract with the expected maximum per year to be 70,000 pieces of mail. The period of performance is expected to be for a nine month base period and two additional 12 month option periods. This is not a request for quotes, however, interested parties in the Urbandale, Iowa area will be considered and evaluated on price, past performance and technical ability.
