Description

The VA Medical Center, Network Logistics Office (509/10N7/NLO), 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, GA 30904-6285, is in the process of contracting for a full service bacteriologically clean linen. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, management, supplies, commonized linen and textile items, bulk delivery carts, transportation, and facilities necessary to perform Contractor owned/Contractor operated bulk laundry/linen services and tasks required under this contract for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN-7), which includes VA Medical Centers in Decatur, GA; Augusta, GA's two(2) divisions (Uptown and Downtown); Dublin, GA; Charleston, SC; and Columbia, SC. All services are to be performed in accordance with standard industry practices and quality control measures. Services shall include pick-up and delivery of items by Contractor personnel. These services are in support of patient care programs. The contractor shall make special linen services available at the VA's option, including but not limited to surgery linen, inspection, surgery pack making, pressing, garment finishing and processing of non-standard items. Evaluation factors will be Technical/Management Approach, Personnel Qualifications, Past Performance and Pricing/Fee Schedule. The relative importance of each factor is in a descending order of precedence. The solicitation will be issued with a base year and four (4) one (1) year options to renew with the VA having the discretionary option for renewals. The NAICS code for this procurement is 812331 with a small business size standard of $12 M. All linen, uniforms, specialty linen, wraps, mops heads, etc.. will be supplied by the contractor for all the VISN7 sites stated above. The solicitation will be issued on/about January 26, 2005 with a proposal response of February 18, 2005. The estimated project dollar amount is in excess of $10 million. Any amendments to this solicitation will be available at the URL address and offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments.
