The 14th Annual TACOM/Industry Logistics Symposium, The theme this year is 'Connecting the Logistics Enterprise to the Warfighter'. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: This event is sponsored by the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) with administrative support provided by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Michigan Chapter. SCOPE AND OBJECTIVE: The 14th annual TACO M/Industry Logistics Symposium will be held March 15-17, 2005. It will be held at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Dearborn, MI. This Logistics Symposium brings together government and industry personnel to discuss and explore issues relevant to the constant cha nges in the logistics environment. This forum provides an environment for networking and enhancing lines of communication. AGENDA: The symposium agenda is provided below in this message. The Department of the Army is in a major transformation. This transfo rmation impacts every area of the Army including soldiers, equipment, training and warfare. It is a process that will transform the current armed forces to a lighter modular force. The transformation represents the future full spectrum force-organized, ma nned, equipped and trained to increase strategic responsiveness across the entire spectrum of military operations from major theater wars to homeland security. The Army is also supporting operations in Iraq. This campaign will require enduring commitment. The Army supports the DOD Joint Forces with campaign-quality combat support, and combat service support necessary to conduct sustained land warfare. It is vital the Army deliver its forces at the right place and time to defeat any adversary and control an y situation across the full range of military operations. Representatives from the government and industry will discuss the future of the Army, Logistics across a Joint & Combined Environment, Current to the Future Force Initiative, Sense and Respond Logis tics, Network Centric Warfare, Performance Based Logistics (PBL), Strategic Logistics, Strategic Alliance Partnerships and the Common Logistics Operating Environment (CLOE). There will also be briefings on the following initiatives: Logistics Support for O peration Iraqi Freedom-Lessons Learned, Reliability, Maintainability & Supportability (RMS), Transportation Infrastructure, Defense Logistics Agency  Factory to the Foxhole  Supply Chain, Improving Weapon System Effectiveness through Performance Based Lo gistics (PBL),Use of the Armys Simulation and Modeling for Acquisition, Requirements and Training (SMART) in the Life Cycle, Communicating Maintenance Data throughout the world, TMDE Strategies, Unit of Action (UA) and Unit of Employment (UE), Special Ope rations, Implementing Life Cycle Management, Logistics Re-Supply from Operation Iraq Freedom (OIF), Lean Six Sigma, Acquisition and Sustainment of Products and Services, Integrated Mechanical Diagnostics, Deeply Coupled Computing and Transformation Technol ogies. An on-site service will be provided to enable attendees to download speaker presentations to their laptops. A CD will be mailed to all attendees who request them after the event. This symposium continues to be a world class event because of the commitment from government and indust ry representatives. As we did last year, we expect to sell all exhibition space. Each 8' x 10' booth will incl ude back and side drapes, a draped table and two chairs. The fee is $1,050.00 for the entire symposium. This fee will include the availability, on a first come, first served basis, of a business meeting room for exhibitors. Six-foot draped table tops will be available for $325.00 and poster displays for $100.00 for the entire symposium. Outdoor exhibits are also $1,050.00. Typically, outdoor exhibits are made up of stationary displays and vehicles. However, there is indoor space reserved for outdoor exhib its that meet NDIA-MIs space allocations and the hotels weight restrictions. Such indoor space requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis. All exhibition space is allocated on a first come, first served basis.
