- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN), Charleston is soliciting information from potential sources to provide Multibeam Sonar Systems (MBSS) for the Navy. Potential sources must have demonstrated expertise and proven abilities capable of providing a full suite of sonar equipment to include: full ocean depth multibeam, integrated single beam, integrated full ocean depth narrow-beam sub bottom profiler, and multifrequnecy doppler current profiler (MDCP). The minimum requirements include: Multibeam: 1 x 1 Degree, full ocean depth 150-degree swath width Motion stabilization Single beam: Multifrequency 20-11000 meters depth range Passive pinger mode Sub bottom: 3 x 3 degree, full ocean depth Motion stabilized Integrated with deep multibeam system ADCP: Multifrequency Doppler Current Profiler Shallow and deep capabilities (dual frequency) Suite of sonars is to be installed in a below-hull appendage providing a flat surface for all transducers. All systems must be integrated with existing ship systems that provide navigation and motion data to sonars. The sonars may be required to provide data in specific format to be logged/displayed by existing integrated survey software. It is anticipated that a solicitation will be issued for an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, Firm-fixed Priced, Performance Based type contract, with task orders. Firms are invited to submit the appropriate documentation as described above in addition to any literature, brochures, and references necessary to support that they possess the required capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements. There is a page limit of five (5) on data submitted. Responses shall be submitted to SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston, Code 0218TB, P.O. Box 190022, North Charleston, SC 29419-9022, or by e-mail to theresa.brutsch@navy.mil. Responses must include the following: (1) name and address of firm; (2) size of business, including: average annual revenue for past three years and number of employees; (3) ownership, indicating whether: Large, Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Women-Owned, HUBZone, and/or Veteran-Owned Business; (4) number or years in business; (5) two points of contact, including: name, title, phone, fax, and e-mail address; and (6) DUNS Number (if available). Do not include any support documentation for any company other than your own. This is an analysis of your company???s abilities and what it can or cannot perform. This notice is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement, or any follow-up information requests. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. The government reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside or 8(a) set-aside based on responses hereto. The applicable NAICS code is 334511 with a size standard of 750. The closing date for responses is 23 January 2005.
