Description
The U.S. Army ARDEC has a requirement for an initial quantity of two thousand one hundred fifty (2,150) M192 Lightweight Ground Mount assemblies and associated spare parts. In addition there may be four options with a potential quantity of 1,000 to 4,000 M192 Lightweight Ground Mount assemblies and associated spare parts per option. The M192 Lightweight Ground Mount is a new, fully collapsible, lower profile ground mount with an integral traverse and elevating mechanism intended to replace the current M122A1 tripod. The M192 mounts the M240B Medium Machine Gun and the M249 SAW Light Machine Gun and allows the soldier to deliver a high degree of accurate, sustained fire while significantly reducing the weight and size burden of the current M122A1 tripod. The item shall be fabricated in accordance with U.S.G. drawings, inspected in accordance with U.S.G. Quality Assurance Provisions and packaged in accordance with U.S.G. Special Packaging Instructions. The contractor must be able to sustain a delivery schedule of 150 Lightweight Ground Mount assemblies per month with a possible increase to as much as 250 Lightweight Ground Mount assemblies per month. There will be a First Article Test quantity and requirement to pass First Article prior to approval for full production. This is a small business set-aside. A Request for Proposal (RFP) will be released on the TACOM-ARDEC Acquisition Center website located at http://procnet.pica.army.mil on or about October 29, 2004. The RFP will be released with preliminary drawings and an amendment will be posted later with final drawings before proposals are due.
