- SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. This is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation is available. The Nutrient Data Laboratory (NDL), Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center, Agricultural Research Service, US Department of Agriculture, currently compiles and disseminates validated nutrient data on the composition of foods (see our website at www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp). NDL does not have its own laboratory and relies on other government laboratories, cooperative agreements with university laboratories, or contracts with commercial laboratories for the analysis of components in foods and dietary supplements. This ?Sources Sought? notice is being published to determine the availability of laboratories with experience and interest in analyzing components in foods and dietary supplements listed below. Laboratories with experience performing analyses of foods/dietary supplements items are encouraged to respond. THE GOVERNMENT IS VERY INTERESTED IN AND ENCOURAGES SMALL BUSINESSES TO RESPOND. Please send the following information: Name of Laboratory; Address; Contact Person(s); and Website Types of components in foods and dietary supplements routinely analyzed either from List A, List B, or both lists for which you have analysis capability. YOU WILL HAVE TO REQUEST (VIA EMAIL OR FAX) A COPY OF LIST A, LIST B, OR BOTH LISTS FROM THE PRIMARY POINT OF CONTACT. When applicable, please provide information about the following topics: Laboratory accreditations and/or certifications Qualifications and experience in handling components in foods and dietary supplements (i.e. pills, tablets, gel-caps) routinely analyzed either from List A, List B, or both lists; specifically, storage equipment and conditions, and handling of components in these lists Qualifications and experience in processing components in foods and dietary supplements either from List A, List B, or both lists; specifically equipment and procedures for homogenizing products and procedures for the validation of homogeneity Qualifications and experience in analyzing components in foods and dietary supplements; specifically, laboratory equipment, methods of analysis used for the specific ingredients listed in either List A, List B, or both lists, and Quality Assurance Programs, including the use of reference and control materials, and duplicate analyses.
