Description
The US Army ARDEC is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for a tripod kit that also includes a soft and hard case. The tripod will be mounted to the Leupold and Stevens Mark 4 12-40x60mm Tactical Spotting Scope with MIL Dot Reticle (Part # 53756), as currently used by U.S. Army snipers, using either a detachable or quick release plate. In addition to the spotting scope, the tripod must support a night vision configuration (NVC). The NVC consists of an AN/PVS-14 Monocular Night Vision Device, manufactured by Northrop Grumman attached to the spotting scope?s eyepiece. The tripod is intended to support the scope with the soldier in both prone and sitting positions. The soft case will contain both tripod and spotting scope and must fit into a hard transportation/storage case. The hard case will require one way pressure relief valve. The estimated quantity that may be required by the Government is 2,600 each. Deliveries are to commence in late FY 05.
