- Description
- The 20th Contracting Squadron, Shaw AFB, S.C. is requesting a quote on the following Brand Name or equal item: GENTEX Corporation Light Vehicle Intercom System. Vehicle mounted crew intercom system capable of rapidly scaling from four to eight user positions. Four positions are within the vehicle's cab (5-10 ft cable distance), and four positions are in the rear crew compartment (20 ft cable distance). Vehicle battery voltage is 24VDC. The intercom must connect to two main vehicle-mounted radios and each user position must have access to transmit and receive on a selectable radio via Push-To-Talk (PTT) buttons. PTT buttons are requested to be clipped to a user's body armor or belt, but other design options will be entertained and reviewed on an individual basis. Vehicle mounted radios can include any combination of Motorola XTS5000 with XTVA vehicle adapters, Harris AN/PRC-117(F), or ITT SINCGARS family of radios. Radio interface cables will be included with the system. Further, communication among stations in the same vehicle must have the ability to toggle between PTT or always-on intercom transmission ("hot" intercom mics with no radio transmission). Each station must have a slim-fitting headset with boom microphone that is capable of fitting beneath the PASGAT helmet. Each headset cable must have a friction break-away connection that will automatically disconnect the use from the intercom system upon exiting without requiring the user to twist cables or manually unlock the connection. Each user headset/PTT set must also have a spar or "Y" connection to interface with a stand-alone Motorola XTS5000. Upon break-away, the PTT button and radio access will be routed to the handheld XTS5000. The spar or "Y" connection cable should be removable so the feature can be implemented only when deemed necessary in the field. Further, one position will have a foot switch for intercom PTT. Overall system size is extremely important. Control boxes should be mountable, numbers should be kept to a minimum, and unit should be as small as possible. This is a combine synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
