Description
The US Army CECOM Acquisition Center (CAC) on behalf of the RDE NVESD, Air and Netted Sensors Div is soliciting informational white papers for development and rapid prototyping of an imagery Data Acq System (DAS) to be installed in a pod mounted on a UH-60 aircraft. Technical POC Jeannie De Witte 703-704-3306; e-mail jeanne.dewitte@us.army.mil. CAC Contracting Officer POC Julianne Magee 732-427-1499; e-mail julianne.m.magee@ us.army.mil. The pod will contain two cameras, a system controller, INS/GPS, DAS and associated components for power/environmental control. Key DAS rqmts include a minimum of 1 hour of digital data recording supporting simultaneous dual channel camera link or low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) recording at 120Mbytes/s per channel, synchronized CMIGITS III IMU navigation meta-data with the digital camera data synchronization of 20 msec or better, and a bit error rate of 10 with an exponent of neg 8 or better. The system should be able to start and stop recording during fligh t without losing any previously stored imagery. Additional rqmts include the capability to store data on a drive that will enable realtime playback/download, start-up BIT, monitor DAS status during flight, rapid and download of data after flight to a stor age device or portable work station, and a system reliability of at least 2000 hours MTBF. Optimum size limits are 11.5 inches long, 16 inches wide, and 8.5 inches high. A maximum weight of 50 lbs is envisioned. A complete list of requirements is availabl e upon request from the technical poc identified above. Viable solutions may result in further discussions/contractual agrmts to very rapidly procure prototype DAS hardware and support subsequent pod integration and flight testing over the March-June 2005 timeframe. NO RFP or other announcement of this opportunity will be made. Interested parties should be alert for any amendments that may be published following this request.
