Description
Contractor to provide all materials,equipment, tools and labor to replace metal TP Siding for DDRV Warehouse Nos. 9,10,11,12,14,15. Project consists of replacing approximately 4,400 sq.ft. of existing exposed fasten metal corrugated siding coated with a bitumen tar like coating material which contains asbestos with new exposed fastening steel factory painted siding, related trim and components. Existing corrugated metal siding contains a coating material that is non-friable and is not regulated, thus specific abatement measures need not be taken as regards to removal. Licensed asbestos workers need not be used for removal of this material. This work does not qualify as a NESHAP job. A licensed asbestos abatement supervisor is not required on this job. A project monitor or air monitor will be required anytime that asbestos containing material is disturbed, air monitoring is to be undertaken in order to document that no exposure has occurred or that it has in fact occurred. Contractor shall secure written permission from an authorized landfill operator prior to taking this non-friable asbestos containing material there for deposition. A turn around document to denote that his material was properly disposed of in a landfill must be received by the DSCR point of contract following burial in a landfill. Recycling of this material is not an option. The contractor shall abide by all OSHA, state, federal and DSCR safety requirements. Work shall be completed in 60 calendar days after written notice to proceed by the contracting officer. All work shall be coordinated with the Facilities Engineering Representatives Johnny Williams (804)279-6107 and Bill Youmans (804)279-4694. Contractor shall visit the site to verify all measurements. Contact Johnny Williams or Bill Youmans to schedule a site visit. It is anticipated that a firm fixed price contract will be awarded. This requirement is 100% small business set-aside. This project is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. A copy of this solicitation will be made available via the DLA Procurement Gateway at http://progate.daps.dla.mil on or about January 28, 2005.
