Description
NASA, KSC has a requirement for the following: 1) Outdoor Fixed Camera Assemblies, Quantity: 8 each; 2) Indoor Fixed Camera Assemblies, Qty: 3 each; and 3) PTZ Camera Assemblies, Quantity: 42 each. This requirement is a follow-on for camera assemblies required for the continued development of NASA, KSC?s Electronic Security System (ESS). These Camera Assemblies are to be integrated into the existing ESS. The assemblies must be fully compatible and interchangeable with the existing Camera Assemblies in the ESS that were purchased in 2004 from Western Video, Inc. Western Video, Inc. designed the configuration of the ESS system that the Camera Assemblies are configured into. Western Video, Inc. is the only known source that has a designed camera system (has proprietary rights) that meets all the requirements of NASA, KSC?s ESS. NASA, KSC intends to purchase the required Camera Assemblies from Western Video, Inc. on a sole source basis through the authority of FAR 6.302-1 ?only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements?. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing in writing by mail, fax or e-mail, to Susan J. Wall not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on February 4, 2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
