- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract for a base year and four option years to General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products Inc. (GDATP), 128 Lakeside Avenue, Burlington, VT 05401-4985 for the M61A2 20mm Automatic Gun System for the F-18 E/F aircraft. It is estimated the Navy will procure approximately 154 units over a five (5) year period. This contract will also contain an in-service engineering and technical support of the F/A-18E/F ammunition handling and gun system and M61A2 20mm Lightweight Gatling Gun Systems. Government intends to negotiate the contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. GDAPT is the only known company that possesses the engineering expertise, and personnel necessary to perform the efforts associated with this procurement. GDAPT also posses the technical and proprietary data associated with the M61A2 Gun System. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Note 22 applies.
