Description
NOTE: Current telecommunication provider is Bell South, it is the intent to award to Bell South to maintain continuity of service. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to establish a 100 Mbps Full Duplex Metro-Ethernet Service between 6000 W Highway 98, Bldg 2268 and Bldg 628 NAS Pensacola, FL. To include: All fiber optic cable Monthly Provision of service on the fiber between the above buildings.. The contractor shall obtain all necessary permits necessary to install such cable as needed. All work shall conform to state, federal and local laws and industry regulations. The contractor shall ensure layer- 2 service V-LAN technology is utilized to separate and secure individual customer traffic within the Metro Ethernet network. Dedicated LAN Extension Circuits (LEC?s) should be used to connect the customer to the service platform. LEC?s should be provisioned over a dedicated fiber connection from a customer?s premise into the Ethernet switch. Provider should ensure physical security is in place to prevent unauthorized access to the Metropolitan Ethernet Connection services in the provider owned buildings. Logging and tracking of login access to the service platforms should provide a tracking mechanism for the Operations arena. ERROR PERFORMANCE: Error performance shall be better than the following parameter thresholds to be acceptable: availability shall be greater than 99.9% severely errored seconds (ses) shall be less than 0.02% degraded minutes (dm) shall be less than 0.2% error free seconds (efs) shall be greater than 99% end to end delay shall be measured over the entire circuit and shall be less than or equal to 125 milliseconds. COMMENCEMENT, PROSECUTION AND COMPLETION OF WORK: Contractor shall be able to ensure that connection it activated NLT April 1, 2005. CONTRACT TERM: 36 Months
