- Upgrade Ash Handling System at the United States Capitol Power Plant, Washington, D.C. The Architect of the Capitol has a requirement for the Upgrade of its Ash Handling System located at the United States Capitol Power Plant, Washington, D.C. The Contractor shall furnish all supplies/equipment and material for the component replacement and upgrade for two units (Boiler Unit 1 & 2) located at the Capitol Power Plant (CPP). The contractor shall cover the following items in its proposal: (1) Bottom Ash Hoppers - New self feeding grid hopper intakes and new air intake; (2) Sifting Ash Hoppers - New fly ash intakes and new air intake; (3) Multi clone Hoppers - New straight drop gates, down spouts, intake tees and air intake; (4) Baghouse Hoppers - New fly ash intakes and air intakes for each branch line; (5) Upgrade of the existing control system to a PLC-based control system with a Panel view operator interface; (6) Vacuum hook-ups on the conveying line to aid in clean up and (7) an Option for a mixer/unloader and belt conveyor for the un-used portion of the silo complex. The Government will provide Nuvaloy Pipe to replace existing conveying pipe. The estimated dollar range for this project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
