Description

The Bureau of Land Management New Mexico State Office has an upcoming requirement for removal or extraction of saltcedar trees and other invasive or non-native tree and shrub species in approximately 200 acres of public lands and additional 40 approximate acres of adjacent private land. The project is located in the Melena Allotment within the management jurisdiction of the BLM Roswell Field Office. Desired outcome or objective is complete mechanical extraction of saltcedar trees, removing the taproot system in the process. Minimal surface soil disturbance is required during the removal process. Resulting extracted trees will be scattered within designated areas for further treatment through broadcast burning by the BLM fire personnel. Period of performance is four weeks from the time of award with an ultimate completion date of March 23, 2005. Request for Quotation GDQ051016 will be made available electronically via www.ideasec.gov on or before February 8, 2005 using the procedures prescribed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items in conjunction with FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Award will be made by February 22, 2005. Prospective offerors will be asked to submit a technical approach that best meets the desired outcome or objective identified in this announcement. In addition, price, past performance history, and small business participation in descending order of importance will be factors in the evaluation of offers. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.
