Description
The United States Department of Labor?s Office of Worker?s Compensation Programs (OWCP) located in Washington, D.C. intends to award a contract for the provision of medical second opinion services for claimants pursuant to the Federal Employees? Compensation Act (FECA) who are served by the Division of Federal Employees? Compensation (DFEC) District Offices in Chicago, Illinois and Cleveland, Ohio and who reside in (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin). It is the intent of the Government to make a single award to an offeror who can provide all services as specified in the solicitation. An indefinite quantity/indefinite delivery contract is anticipated, on a firm fixed unit price basis. The contract will consist of a 12 month base period and four 12 month option periods for renewal. This requirement is a full and open competition. For informational purposes, the NAICS code for this requirement is 621999 and the size standard is $8.5 million. DOL estimates medical second opinion services shall be required for approximately 1,200 FECA claimants per annum from the Chicago and Cleveland District Offices and approximately 50 Supplemental Reports and 50 Follow-up Reports will be required per annum. Emphasis will be placed on the quality of the medical reports and the timeliness of their delivery. There is an incumbent contractor performing these services ? The Ricwel Corporation- Contract Number J-9-E-0-0027. . The solicitation will be made available on or about November 30, 2004 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides all downloading instructions to obtain a copy of the solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this website to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The anticipated date for receipt of proposals is on or about January 15, 2005 with an award date on or about April 2005.
