- THIS PROJECT IS ADVERTISED UNDER SECTION 8(a) OF THE SMALL BUSINESS ACT (15 U.S.C. 637 (a)) (8(a) Competitive). The work under this contract shall consist of construction of the advanced communications requirements for the Add Alter Building 501A, A udiovisual project. The AV systems will support 24 spaces including an AV Master Control Room, Meeting Rooms, Multi-purpose Rooms, Conference Rooms, Offices, Workrooms, Planning Rooms, and open office areas. AV Systems will vary by space and in general w ill include: A building total of approximately 250 channels of audio/video routing distributed among the spaces; Fiber optic transmission of signals between spaces; Centralized CODEC farm for video teleconferencing from various spaces; Multi-point video c onferencing and room to room audio/video collaboration; A 10 ft. x 40 ft. video wall for 24/7/365 Network Operations Center (NOC) with more than 25 workstations; A 6 ft., 6 in. x 27 ft. video wall for 24/7/365 NOC with more than 30 workstations; A 6 ft.,6 in. x 27 ft. video wall for a collaborative planning space; Large AV presentation/videoconference systems with video projectors and plasma displays; Conference room AV presentation/videoconference systems with video projectors and/or multiple plasma displ ays; Audio systems for program, speech reinforcement and videoconferencing; and fully integrated, building-wide control system with touch panels in each space (annotation touch panels in most spaces). Estimated cost range of this project is from $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Solicitation documents should be available on or about 1 March 2005. Mr. Ed Slana is Contracting Officer for this project. Only those firms meeting the Small Business Administration's (SBA) criterion, and have previously been certified by the SBA as a n 8(a) Contractor, are eligible to compete for this procurement. It has been determined by the SBA that competition will be restricted to 8(a) firms which have a NAICS code of 23332 among their approved NAICS Codes and which are serviced by the following SBA District Offices: Alabama and Florida firms and firms with bo nafide offices in these states.
