Description
The Substance and Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, (DHHS), through the Program Support Center, intends to negotiate a sole-source award with Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities (TASC), Alexandria, VA . Purpose: 12th National TASC (Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities) Ninth Annual Conference on Drugs and Crime. The theme of the conference is: Developing Safe and Healthy Communities: Resilience, Recovery and Reentry Programs that Work. The National TASC is uniquely qualified to fulfill the tasks. National TASC is the sole organizer of their 12th National Conference on Drugs and Crime. For this unique operation and other activities described above, National TASC is the sole contractor who can provide the venue and accomplish these activities. The conference will be a forum for exchange of ideas and a showcase for the state-of-the-art technology and information on offender management, drug treatment programming, drug courts, offender re-entry, research, management and managed care issues. The conference will feature tracks on research, management, implementation of TASC components, and clinical issues and training. Additional workshops will include family-focused programs, front-end diversion, working with other systems, and working with scarce resources. Through plenary sessions, panel discussions, and training workshops, participants and sponsors will have the opportunity to learn the latest innovations and developments in Juvenile/Criminal Justice/Mental Health case management. In addition, conference attendees will have the opportunity to attend several pre-conference sessions such as a series on engaging and retaining court-involved persons in mental health and substance abuse treatment. THE PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION ACTION IS FOR SUPPLIES OR SERVICES FOR WHICH THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO SOLICIT AND NEGOTIATE WITH ONLY ONE SOURCE UNDER AUTHORITY OF FAR 13.106-1 INTERESTED PERSONS MAY IDENTIFY THEIR INTEREST AND CAPABILITY TO RESPOND TO THE REQUIREMENT OR SUBMIT PROPOSALS WITHIN 7 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE. A DETERMINATION BY THE GOVERNMENT NOT TO COMPETE THIS PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION BASED UPON RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE IS SOLELY WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT. INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL NORMALLY BE CONSIDERED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHETHER TO CONDUCT A COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT.
