- The purpose of Amendment #1 to HSHQDA-05-Q-0011 is to: (a.) Respond to questions and comments from prospective offerors. (b.) The date and time specified for receipt of quotes remain unchanged. (1.) We are assuming the Hutch sits on top of the Administrative Desk and approximately 49 inches in height. Is this correct? Response: Yes, that is correct. (2.) The specs on the furniture state the finish is dark cherry and traditional executive type style. This indicates a veneer type finish. Or, would laminate or steel with the appropriate finish be considered as well? Response: The finish should be a high pressure laminate. (3.) The recessed area for the computer monitors on the communicator consoles can take on various forms. Is it desired to monitors lowered 3-4 inches vs completely under the console top: Response: Yes monitors lowered 3 to 4 inches. (4.) Supervisor Console ? assume no requirement for a recessed area for monitors. Response: Yes; there is a requirement for recessed area for monitor on supervisor console. (5.) On the 4 Workstations, the specs state a recessed monitor well is required and then later on states a normal desktop computer will be used. Am I correct in stating the monitors will sit in the recessed well and not directly on the desktop. Response: Yes, monitors will sit in recessed well. (6.) There are no specs for seating. Is this not included? Response: There is not a requirement for seating. (7.) Are the consoles enclosed or open? Response: The consoles should be enclosed. (8.) Are flat panel monitors being used in the console or standard CRT monitors? Response: Flat panel monitors will be used (9.) Is the monitor to be completely recessed under work surface (using a glass view port), or partially recessed to improve sight line? Response: The monitor will not be completely recessed and will not use a glass view port. It will be lowered 3 to 4 inches. (10.) Should finishes be laminate or veneer? Response: Finishes should be high pressure laminate. (11.) Can we get a more in-depth description of the Docking Station Racks? Response: Attachment 2 is a sample (picture) of what the docking station cradle looks like. There is no other detailed description. (12.) Does installation include inside delivery? Response: Yes, installation will include inside delivery and set-up. (13.) It appears that you have a manufacturer in mind by the way the spec is written. Could you share their name with me? Response: We do not have a particular manufacturer in mind. General specifications and layout of items for the room were developed by our Engineer based on what was needed to fit the space that we have. (14.) Is this full and open competition or are you looking for competitive bids for a project already spec'd? Response: This requirement is for a small business set-aside. (15.) Stated in the word document you have a quantity of 4 workstations. The drawing depicts only 2 workstations. Would you like 2 workstations of 4 operators per workstation? Or would you like to have 4 workstations of 2 operators per console? Response: Four 5 ft workstations should he joined to make a two 10 ft workstation. Each 10 ft workstation should accommodate 4 people. (16.) Where are the two storage credenzas (6 ft high) going to be located? How long would you like the other 48 inches credenza and where will it be located? Response: One 6 ft storage credenza will be located in the small radio room; One 6? credenza will be located in the Ops Room to the right of the V shaped console; and One 4 ft Credenza will be next to the 6 ft credenza in the Ops room. The credenza should be 48 inches long. (17.) Where would you like the bookcase located and what are your required dimensions? Response: The bookcase will be located in the Ops Room and the required dimensions are 4 ft wide x 48 inches high. (18.) Are you presently working on other furniture requirements for your location? Response: No, there are no other furniture requirements working at this location. (19). I assume you have no preference to the manufacturer as long as it meets the specs listed? Response: There is no preference for any particular manufacturer. (20.) The color chart did not come through to well but looks as if there are laminate choices. Response: Yes, the choices are laminate. (21.) Is the docking station cradle to be attached to the underside of the table, or can this be a drawer? Response: Docking station cradle should be attached to the underside of the table
